About

SE Urban Future documents design research at the intersection of ecological architecture, mass timber engineering, and parametric urban morphology. The site covers the work of collectives and practitioners who approach architectural and urban design as a research practice, generating knowledge through competition entries, speculative studies, and iterative structural experimentation.

Writing addresses the evolution of ecological architecture from surface sustainability toward systems thinking, the technical and regulatory development of mass timber as a viable structural material for tall mixed-use buildings in seismically active zones, and the application of Voronoi geometry and other mathematical tools to urban morphology research.

The site is written for architects, urban designers, structural engineers, and researchers with an interest in the relationship between ecological performance, structural innovation, and the form of the contemporary city.
